The Greenman's Song
The Greenman arrives with a gleam in his eyes,
“I am the Life Spirit,” says He.
“Each green growing thing is the song that I sing,
All creatures that roam wild and free.”
The fairy bells ring for our leaf-covered king,
“I am the Good Father,” says He.
“From Oak, Ash, and Thorn, my dear children are born,
And all things alive sprout from me.”
He's older than time this great spirit sublime,
“I've always been with you,” says He.
“I care for my own from my tall woodland throne,
Protector of all that I see.”
